Gosiutichthys parvus mass mortality plate
Price on Request
The fossil represents a mass mortality plate containing several fossil fish of the
species Gosiutichthys parvus as found in the Green River Formation in the south
west of Wyoming. The mass presence of these fish leads to think that the fish
where trapped in a mud puddle that ultimately dried out.
Even while the preservation is very different compared to the fish from the
Fossil Lake deposites there is no doubt these fish originate from the Green River
formation. The fish were found in the Lake Gosiute deposits.
This plate is the biggest section we ever recovered and has fish on both sides.
