Wood is most of the time fossilised by replacement with silica. This fossil wood slab found in Turkey is different. It gets incredible colours due to the infiltration by copper based minerals. Native copper, green malachite, blue azurite and a bit of turquoise have all these made it into an incredible mix of beautifully colours and patterns.
Most often this wood is polished into cabochons. This slab if very different due to its longitudinal cut showing an incredible unique fossil.
