Beardog skull bones on matrix

€ 3.250
Incredible matrix piece with an almost complete lower jaw, part of the maxilla and the front of the skull of a rare carnivore, the beardog. Hemicyon, also known as the "dog-bear" is an extinct genus of hemicyonine bear which due to its posture is seen als half bear, half dog. This species lived during the Miocene and it is extremely rare to come along such fossils. The jaw measures 17 cm or 6.7". The contrast between the black matrix and the brown skull bones is extremely beautiful. An all natural killer piece.
